This is my hobby, and it should make me happy and content:D
I am waiting for new fabric, and looking forward to making something for my self. Maybe that will help me out a little, and make me relax :DTonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15418727568978024988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468116094403524734.post-59603676490088274472014-04-25T08:52:19.005+02:002014-04-25T08:52:19.005+02:00Thank you Claire! Probably my inner concius talking to me there...
I am just going to do as mentioned and pack the pattern pieces away. And maybe see if there is any other interesting projects I could use the fabric for. It is quite lovely! But very often I buy a pattern I have no intention for, just in case something should come up, and I would have use of it. My sewing resources are quite limited to, and therefor I often plan things down to every detail before I buy any material. I allso use a great lot of time at the internet looking for cheeper/cheepest fabric/notions of what I need, since fabric costs almost 3 times as what it would cost in the US or UK!Tonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15418727568978024988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468116094403524734.post-71639406310127454782014-04-25T00:12:13.216+02:002014-04-25T00:12:13.216+02:00;) I have this at the moment - I've just tried...;) I have this at the moment - I've just tried to cleanse my palate with a new skirt & a new blouse & I feel more able to get back to it now ;) If it's a gift or something, the 'pushing through' with dedicated 20min sewing on it each day also helps minimise the guilt 'cause I'm doing something on it. But.... if it's not cut out yet, I'd also suggest just putting it away neatly & sewing something else until the motivation strikes again - much better than having it as a pile of cut pieces, part sewn & unable to be repurposed. I think it happens for everyone - and sewing is our hobby, we're not meant to resent it ;)MaciNichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07165307130447217668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5468116094403524734.post-12107928371270978652014-04-24T23:19:11.231+02:002014-04-24T23:19:11.231+02:00First off, don't feel guilty! If you had cut out the pieces I would have suggested doing a little every day or so - that way you're making progress but it isn't dominating your thoughts or time. In the meantime, perhaps find another project or take a sewing break - we all need one every now and then to rejuvenate our creative streak. (I have a Pinterest board for listing potential patterns which I revisit and reedit constantly!) Maybe you could sew small steps for the dress alongside something you're more excited about making? I think though that if you haven't cut the fabric yet, then you're better off walking away from this project for the time being. Maybe you don't feel like making this kind of thing, maybe you'd prefer to work with a different fabric, maybe you just need a sewing break: whatever the reason, I think it's better to put a pattern aside than to feel obliged to make it and getting stressed.
